30-Day Visa-Free China: Sourcing Trips to Yiwu
For B2B buyers in the Gulf and South America, the paperwork barrier to visiting China has dropped. Under China's unilateral visa-free policy, ordinary passport holders from a defined list of countries may enter China without a visa for business, tourism, family visits, exchange visits or transit for stays of up to 30 days. The policy has been extended and is valid until 31 December 2026 at 24:00. For importers and wholesalers, that is a realistic window to plan a Yiwu sourcing trip this season.
This article covers which countries in your regions are on the list, how the 30-day stay is counted, what to prepare at the port of entry, and how to structure a sourcing itinerary around our showroom and partner-factory network.
Which Countries Are on the 30-Day List
GCC buyers
Four Gulf Cooperation Council markets are covered by the current unilateral visa-free arrangement:
- Saudi Arabia — ordinary passport holders travelling for business, tourism, family visits, exchange visits or transit for up to 30 days may enter without a visa; the policy is valid until 31 December 2026 at 24:00.
- Oman — same conditions and the same validity date of 31 December 2026 at 24:00.
- Kuwait — same conditions and the same validity date of 31 December 2026 at 24:00.
- Bahrain — same conditions and the same validity date of 31 December 2026 at 24:00.
South American buyers
Five South American markets are covered:
- Brazil — up to 30 days visa-free for the permitted purposes; valid until 31 December 2026 at 24:00.
- Argentina — same conditions and validity date.
- Chile — same conditions and validity date.
- Peru — same conditions and validity date.
- Uruguay — same conditions and validity date.
If your company is based in one of these markets and your buyers hold ordinary passports, a short sourcing trip no longer requires a business visa application in advance. Note that travellers who do not meet the visa-free conditions still need to obtain a Chinese visa before entry.
What if your market is not on the list?
Buyers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Australia are not covered by the 30-day unilateral visa-free list, but they are included in the 57-country 240-hour transit visa-free arrangement. If your team travels from one of those markets, a transit routing may be worth examining with your travel agent.
How the 30-Day Stay Is Counted
The duration of stay begins at 00:00 on the day after entry. In practice, this means the arrival day itself does not consume one of your 30 days. A buyer arriving on the 1st has the stay counted from the 2nd.
This matters for planning. A trip built around a full factory audit, sample review and order negotiation can be scheduled with more buffer than a rushed three-day visit. Many of our buyers use the window to combine Yiwu with a second sourcing city, then return to Yiwu for final negotiations before departure.
Do You Need an Invitation Letter?
No. Visa-free entry to China does not require an invitation letter. An invitation letter is one of the supporting documents for an M (business) visa application; it is unrelated to visa-free entry.
We do not provide invitation letters or visa assistance. If you are entering visa-free, you will not need one for that purpose. If your situation requires a visa, please apply through the official channels in your country.
Preparing for the Port of Entry
Visa-free entry is not a border-free entry. Officers may ask about the purpose of your visit and your onward plans. A practical preparation checklist:
- Return or onward ticket — be ready to show your booked departure from China.
- Accommodation details — hotel booking or host address for your stay.
- Business context — a short printed summary of your company, the products you source, and the suppliers or trading partners you plan to meet. This is a practical way to answer questions about a business-purpose visit.
- Passport validity — check your passport is in good condition and valid well beyond your planned departure.
Because the policy is a unilateral arrangement with a stated validity date, confirm the current status shortly before you book. Official notices are published by China's National Immigration Administration and the Chinese consular service website, and the policy as verified runs until 31 December 2026 at 24:00.
Planning the Sourcing Itinerary in Yiwu
Days 1–3: Market orientation and shortlisting
Yiwu's wholesale market districts are organised by product category, which makes a category-by-category walkthrough more efficient than a random sweep. Bring a shortlist of the product lines you actually buy, and use the first days to compare suppliers, collect business cards and note pricing structures.
Days 4–10: Samples and quotations
Request samples and written quotations for your priority items. As a one-stop sourcing agent, we coordinate with our partner-factory network and supplier network to collect samples, compare specifications and consolidate quotations, so you are not managing dozens of separate conversations in a language you may not speak.
Days 11–20: Factory visits and quality review
With your shortlist narrowed, visits to partner factories can be arranged to review production capacity, materials and quality control. We verify the certificates our partner factories provide, and certificates and test reports are available on request. This is also the stage to discuss packaging, labelling and carton specifications for your market.
Days 21–30: Consolidation, inspection and shipping
Final negotiation, order confirmation and consolidation usually happen in the closing stretch. We assist with customs clearance documentation and coordinate shipment, so your goods leave China with the paperwork in order. Products covered by our standard terms carry a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use, excluding consumable parts.
A Note on Hainan
If your travel plans include Hainan, note that the separate 30-day Hainan entry visa-free policy applies only to entry through Hainan's open ports and stay within Hainan province's administrative area. It is a different arrangement from the nationwide unilateral visa-free policy, and it does not cover a mainland sourcing itinerary.
