Gulf Home Goods Sourcing: A Category Buying Map
Gulf importers and wholesalers rarely buy one item. They buy a purchase list: housekeeping, storage, kitchen, cleaning tools, and a small outdoor line — often in the same container. This map sets out, group by group, what to pin down before you ask for a quotation.
We are Novel Home Goods (Yiwu Ruiheart Trading Co., Ltd.), a sourcing agent and export trading company based in Yiwu, Zhejiang. We are not a factory, we have no production lines, and we do not manufacture products. Our role is to source in China against your requirements, compare suppliers, inspect goods, and arrange export. Quotations are issued on FOB Yiwu terms, tax excluded.
Before the Category List: Two Practical Points
Visa planning for Gulf buyers. Buyers from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain can currently enter China visa-free for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges or transit for stays of up to 30 days, under China's unilateral visa-free policy; those who do not meet the conditions still need a visa before arrival, and the stay counts from 00:00 of the day after entry. The United Arab Emirates and Qatar are covered under mutual visa-exemption agreements rather than the unilateral policy. Both lists cover 11 countries in total, and this validity runs to 31 December 2026. Visa-free entry does not require an invitation letter.
Conformity is not a category assumption. For Gulf markets, the G-Mark is a conformity mark — not a quality mark — showing that a product meets at least the essential health, safety and environment requirements; it is compulsory for product categories that are the subject of GCC Technical Regulations, with priority given to toys and low voltage devices. The responsible party for affixing it is the manufacturer, its agent in a GCC member state, or another designated party — not us. For Saudi Arabia, SABER is an official electronic platform under SASO. Where a category's mandatory requirement is not covered here, treat it as unconfirmed and check it with the supplier.
Group 1: Housekeeping and Laundry
What to fix before requesting a quotation:
- Size range and nesting. Confirm the exact dimensions of mop buckets, basins, laundry baskets and hampers, and whether units nest inside each other. Nesting decides how many pieces fit in a carton and how the pallet is built.
- Material and finish. State whether you want PP, ABS, stainless steel, or a coated finish, and whether the finish is matte or glossy.
- Colour and label language. Give colour references and the language required on the label and any insert.
- Packing format. Specify inner pack quantity, carton quantity, and whether a barcode is needed on the inner pack, the carton, or both.
Group 2: Storage and Organisation
- Stacking behaviour. For storage boxes, drawer organisers and shelf units, confirm whether items stack loaded, and the maximum load per unit.
- Material and finish. Clarify the plastic grade or the metal thickness, plus the surface treatment.
- Colour and label language. Confirm colour consistency across the range and the label language.
- Packing format. State inner pack, carton count and barcode placement; mixed-colour cartons must be agreed in writing.
Group 3: Kitchen and Food Storage
- Size range and nesting. For containers, lunch boxes and canisters, confirm capacity in millilitres or litres and whether the set nests.
- Material and finish. Confirm the body material, lid material and seal type, and whether the item is intended for contact with food.
- Colour and label language. State the colour set and the label language.
- Packing format. Specify inner pack, carton count and barcode; for sets, confirm whether the set is packed as one retail unit.
Group 4: Cleaning Tools
- Size range and connection type. For brooms, brushes and mops, confirm handle length and whether the handle thread matches your existing range.
- Material and finish. Confirm bristle material, handle material and any coating.
- Colour and label language. Confirm colour and the label language.
- Packing format. State inner pack, carton count and barcode; long-handle items need carton dimensions agreed early.
Group 5: Small Outdoor and Camping Items
- Size range and folding or nesting. Confirm packed and open dimensions, and whether items fold or nest.
- Material and finish. Confirm fabric, frame and coating specifications.
- Colour and label language. Confirm colour and the label language.
- Packing format. Specify inner pack, carton count and barcode.
What Can Realistically Be Combined in One Order
A single order can combine several groups, but the practical limits are packing, carton dimensions and conformity. Light, nestable housekeeping and storage items mix easily; long-handle cleaning tools and folding outdoor items change carton sizes and pallet counts. Ask for a carton-dimension list per group before you commit, and keep items subject to GCC Technical Regulations in a separate conformity discussion.
Saudi-Bound Plastic Items: A Rolling Requirement
For Saudi Arabia, SASO announced that from 18 August 2026, new requirements apply to listed plastic products under HS codes 39219010 and 39219090: the importer must attach a supplier declaration approved by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources when submitting a Shipment Certificate (SC) application on SABER, and without that declaration the certificate cannot be issued smoothly on the platform. These requirements are added on a rolling basis, so confirm the current position with your supplier before booking production.
How We Work With Your List
Send your purchase list by group. We match partner factories in China on material, workmanship and price, buy from the local Yiwu market and our partner-factory network, and check samples and production batches with photo or video records before shipment. Certificates are issued by the partner factories; we verify them against your target-market requirements, such as CE, SABER or NOM.
Before you book flights, you can arrange a live video call to see goods and packing — at the Yiwu market, our warehouse or a partner factory — by requesting a slot in advance and sending the list of items you want to view. Visits to Yiwu are by appointment; send your dates and the products or factories you want to see, and we confirm the arrangements before you travel.
We do not provide freight forwarding: we do not book space, issue transport documents, collect freight, handle customs clearance or operate a consolidation warehouse, and we do not quote freight rates or transit times. We prepare export documents on FOB Yiwu terms and work with the forwarder you appoint.

Policy Status and Validity
The visa-free and transit arrangements described above are stated as current as of the query date and the validity dates recorded in the fact set; the unilateral visa-free policy and the 11-country list are recorded with validity to 31 December 2026. The GCC G-Mark, SABER platform and SASO technical-regulation facts carry no expiry date in the fact set, and none is stated here. The SASO shipment-certificate change applies from 18 August 2026.
